Perry Berman joined Scheer Partners in 2009. He served for five years as the in-house planning consultant for law firm Holland & Knight. He had a long career with the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission. He was Chief of the Community Planning division where he worked on many of Montgomery County’s planning initiatives. Currently, He is working on land development throughout the Washington region where his clients range from banks, property owners, builders, colleges and non-profits in both land use and land sales issues. His current clients include Percontee’s proposed LifeSci Village in White Oak, JBG, Stonebridge Bank, Montgomery College Foundation, Roy Rogers and Freestate Petroleum. Recently he was named chair of the Builders Association Entry Level Housing Committee. As a planner, Perry provides a unique understanding of a properties development potential; the development regulations it will face and the agency contacts Mr. Berman earned a Master’s Degree in public administration and urban planning from New York University, as well as a Bachelor’s Degree in history and political science from Queens College in New York.Currently, Mr. Berman also runs Elkridge, MD-based Berman Ventures, where he serves as a land-use consultant assisting property owners, developers and public-sector agencies in a variety of development, master planning and transportation issues in Montgomery, Howard and Anne Arundel counties.
