Scheer Partners Hired by Casey Health Institute to Lease Remaining 31,150 Square Feet at Gaithersburg Building to Medical-Related Tenants

Gaithersburg, MD – Scheer Partners, the leading provider of fully integrated commercial real estate services for the health science industry in the Washington and Baltimore metropolitan areas, announced today that the Casey Health Institute has engaged the Rockville-based company to market the vacant 31,150 square feet of medical-office space at 800 S. Frederick Ave., a 72,395-square-foot property in Gaithersburg.

Completed in 1990, the Gaithersburg property features an atrium, balconies, a fitness center and abundant surface parking. The building is centrally located in Montgomery County, just north of Shady Grove Road and near Interstates 270 and 370, giving tenants direct access to the Intercounty Connector to Prince George’s County, as well as the growing business community in Frederick. Additionally, it is within a short distance of the Shady Grove Metro station.

Originally developed by Mrs. Eugene B. Casey as a Class-A office building serving the general Gaithersburg submarket, the property has been repurposed as a health-care facility owned and operated by the Casey Health Institute Foundation.

Several years ago, Mrs. Casey donated the property to become the home for the newly created non-profit, the Casey Health Institute, whose mission is to provide holistic, fully integrated primary care.

“Taking care of the whole person in terms of their physical and emotional needs in as minimally invasive a way as possible is what has gone lacking in health care today. Marrying technology with the human relationship makes sense and is cost effective,” says co-founder Dr. Ilana Bar-Levav.

This is the direction that health care is going in our country,” adds Dr. David Fogel, her husband and the institute’s co-founder.

The Casey Health Institute is the largest tenant in the building and recently occupied fully renovated state-of-the-art space, which includes a wellness and yoga center, terrace patios, and a soon-to-get-renovated “healthy food” café and cooking school. The exquisitely landscaped gardens clearly establish the Casey Health Institute facility as a unique opportunity ideal for holistically aware physician practices.

Scheer Partners Senior Vice President Nate Crowe and Kevin Rosenberg, a commercial leasing associate with the firm, are handling the leasing responsibilities.
