While every group of sales experts within our organization contributes ingenuity, razzle-dazzle presentation and bottom line results on a regular basis, we’d like to take some time here today to zero in on the pedigree and recent triumphs of our Capital Markets Group, based out of Scheer’s satellite office in Frederick, Maryland:

The numbers never lie
Let’s get down to brass tacks by detailing some raw stats of the successes the Capital Markets Group has found in 2019:

  • At the end of March 2019, the team, led by principals Joe Donegan and Julian P. Etches, had already completed transactions worth $29.6 million.
  • By June, that figure had jumped to $39.8 million, spread across 12 transactions.
  • That’s 304,000 square feet of real estate!

A recent showcase of success
In one of the Capital Markets team’s latest transactions, Joe and Julian represented the partnership of New York’s Atlas Real Estate Partners and DC’s West End Capital Group in the disposition of the Patrick Center, a Class A office asset located at 30 West Patrick Street, in downtown Frederick.

The buyer, Lee Development Group, paid $15.9 million for the iconic building. Tenants include Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Morgan Stanley, PNC Wealth Management and Miles & Stockbridge — proof positive of the property’s attractiveness.

The faces behind the figures
Exemplary though those sales numbers certainly are, they don’t speak to the human touch that makes such success possible. Let’s take a closer look at the bona fides of our Capital Markets principals:

Joe Donegan joined Scheer Partners in the summer of 2018 with 29 years of experience in the real estate industry (and more than $500 million in transactions) already under his belt. He was a co-founder of Ijamsville, Maryland-based firm Tyler Donegan Duncan Real Estate Services (now known as Tyler Duncan Realty Partners) and is extensively acquainted with property and asset management, as well as lease consulting.

Julian P. Etches, former senior vice president of McShea & Company and managing director of investment sales at Transwestern, brings more than 13 years of experience of skills to the table at Scheer Partners, which have netted more than $475 million in closed deals. His particular expertise lies within investment property sales across multiple categories — suburban office, neighborhood retail, distribution warehouse and flex/industrial, to be specific.
